AN INTRODUCTION

Hello. My name is Jomari. You can call me "Jomari" because that’s what many of my friends do, but many of them also shorten that to "Jom." Some of my high school classmates call me “Joma” while a few of them, weirdly, call me “Jo-chan.” My family calls me "Evan," which they pronounce as "Eban"—emphasis on the plosive "b." My OFW #tita used to call me “Joy-Joy” but that was like a decade ago so who knows what she’ll call me now (and vice versa).

My default username on social media is essenceofevan because it references both the band Evanescence, whose debut album Fallen (2003) kept me in good company in high school, and Evanesco, an incantation that I have now forgotten what happens when cast in the Harry Potter series, which I have read thrice already except for the last book, which I have only read twice.

It’s not available in Blogspot now, so I have chosen “lightscamerahalcyon.” It’s not as #classic for me, but I think the references are just as nifty. It is obviously a pun on the expression “lights, camera, action,” which alludes to my unconditional love for movies, but it also references Bright Lights (2010) and Halcyon (2012), two albums—the best and the worst, respectively—by the artist I stan the most: Ellie Goulding.

I plan to publish my scattered thoughts that are keeping my mind occupied and unorganized, and hopefully find Inner Peace. I’ll try my best not to make this blog #emo but since I Know Myself, I know that I shall fail miserably. I promise to make the #emo posts minimal though. That’s all!
